- Blizzard
- Biggles Cuts It Fine. Chapter 2. Encountered during air search.
- Fog
- Biggles' Second Case. Chapter 7. Biggles' Tarpon is hit by flak and severely damaged. They are then caught in a fog and forced to ditch.
- Biggles' Second Case. Chapter 8. Fog grounds Algy and Bertie and they are unable to take off to search for Biggles and Ginger who are overdue.
- Biggles' Second Case. Chapter 15. Fog obscures what is happening on board the submarine. Biggles is forced to move nearer to investigate.

- Biggles Follows On. Chapter 11. During the operation to recover Wung Ling from his reconnaissance.
- Biggles Cuts It Fine. Chapter 2. Encountered during air search. Later played major role in dictating course of events from Chapter 7 onwards.
- Haboob (sandstorm)
- Sergeant Bigglesworth C.I.D.. Chapter 18. After being captured, the wounded Von Zoyton escapes from a hospital during a haboob.
- Another Job for Biggles. Chapter 7. A haboob grounds Biggles' aircraft.
- Ice
- Biggles Breaks the Silence. Chapter 8. The skis of Biggles' Wellington get stuck in the ice.
- Biggles Cuts It Fine. Chapter 9. Algy and Bertie find that their Sunderland is stuck in thin ice that had formed on the crater lake they landed in.
- Mist
- Biggles Gets His Men. Chapter 4. Early morning thick ground mist worries Biggles because it would make it impossible for Algy to land.
- Monsoon
- The Renegade. The North-east monsoon breaks during the mission. This delays the egress phase because the rain and limited visibility prevented Ginger from spotting where he was supposed to land and so he was late.
- Storms and squalls
- Biggles' Second Case. Chapter 13. "The storm persisted, with squalls of hail, sleet and snow. It raged all that night, all the next day and all the following night. With visibility zero the airmen could do nothing."
- Biggles and the Black Raider. Chapter 5. Ginger runs into a massive thunderstorm coming back from Latonga. It causes him to drift west into the Ruwenzori Mountains. Visibility is reduced to zero and his radio communications are disrupted. Eventually he runs out of fuel and has to force land.
- Biggles Makes Ends Meet. Chapter 11. A "Sumatran". Causes heavy seas, requiring Algy to take off in the Otter and leave the others behind on an island, and preventing him from returning to collect them.
