Every Aircraft Damaged or Destroyed in the stories[]
In the table below damaged aircraft will be assigned a damage category according the system used by the RAF (simplified):
- Cat. 1: Repairable on site by first line maintenance personnel. In other words, repairable by our friends in the field.
- Cat. 2: Repairable on site by second line maintenance personnel. In other words, would need to go into the hangar and be fixed by Smyth and his team.
- Cat.3: Repairable on site but beyond the resources of the unit. Repairs will be done by a Service repair party, or civilian contractor's working party.
- Cat. 4: The damage sustained requires special equipment not available on site and the aircraft must be moved for repair at an established Service repair depot or to a contractor's works.
- Cat. 5: Beyond economic repair. In our context usually means a total hull loss.

They hastily take off. The submarine fires at them. The bullets puncture the main emergency tank and hull. Bertie is also the complete repairs after about half an hour. |

The flare ignites the pesticide and causes the plane to catch fire and crash. |

Biggles does manage to lower the landing gears. He flattens out high and the aircraft bounces on touch-down and comes down hard. Some fuel leads are fractured. And previously the aircraft had been hit by ground fire, puncturing fuel tanks but not affecting the flying controls or engines. Biggles and Ginger do managed to get away from the crash and the aircraft did not catch fire. |

The base is attacked by Kurdish tribesmen and set on fire, causing total hull loss. Also lost are other aircraft at the base, including a Dakota, and some military types which probably included a Breguet 693. |
