O'Connor (Biggles Hits the Trail)

In Biggles Hits the Trail, O'Connor was the name of an Irish engineer which, like Angus McAllister, had been kidnapped by the Chungs and brought to the Mountain of Light. O'Connor refused to help the Chungs work the machinery which they needed to harness the power of the mountain as a means to conquer the world. As a result, O'Connor was thrown into a pit populated by deadly centipedes and there met his death. O'Connor did not appear in the novel in person as he was long dead by the time Biggles arrived in Tibet.
