Murder in Plastic was a 12-page story which first appeared as the second or supplementary story in issue #2 of the Gimlet comics series published by Action Comics of Sydney, Australia. The drawings were done by Royce Bradford who also did the drawings for another Gimlet story in the same issue, Adventure in Soho 1. The plot is wholly original and not based on W. E. Johns' original Gimlet books.
This story was later republished in the U.K. by Strato Publications as one of the stories in issue #9 of their reprinted Adventures of Biggles series. The Strato issue comprised 68 pages with a Biggles comic story International Smugglers placed first.
