In Biggles in Australia, West, the air traffic control officer at Darwin Airport told Biggles that Len Seymour was one of his men (by which he probably meant a member of the airport staff) who was with the relief party which looked after von Stalhein and his group after they arrived at Eighty Mile Beach having survived a shipwreck. Biggles was interested to know what became of the lifeboat which von Stalhein had used. West telephoned Len Seymour and was told that they dragged the boat high out of the water onto the beach and left it there.
