In Worrals in the Wastelands, Eddie Clark was a pilot of Dominion Airways. He was chartered by Captain John Larwood to fly him and his partner Erik Hedin to Lake Desolation with stores for a three months stay. When he returned three months later to find Larwood and Hedin's campsite abandoned. The tent was not there and there was no sign of the two men. Clarke searched the site and the vicinity and found a lipstick case made of pale yellow gold. From the colour of the lipstick case and the inscription on it, British authorities concluded that it had been given to Anna Shultz by Otto Rumey, therefore indicating that the two had somehow managed to get to Canada from Germany after the war. This led to Worrals and Frecks being sent on a special mission to capture Shultz, who was a wanted war criminal.
Upon arrival in Canada, Worrals and Frecks met with Clark who provided them will all the details about his involvement with Larwood and Hedin as well as local information about Lake Desolation. He also recommended that Worrals and Frecks used the Ranger aircraft for their mission.
