Biggles Air Detective by W. E. Johns was first published in 1950 by Marks and Spencer.[1] The stories in the book take place in the immediate post-war period in various locations. Historically, this book contains the first stories where the Special Air Police become involved in what might be said to be routine domestic police work, as opposed to long distance missions going after international criminals.
