In Biggles Works It Out, Barula Creek was a small gold mine in the Northern Territory of Australia. The mine was in the Australian outback some four hundred miles south of Darwin. Four times a year the mine sent a convoy of gold ingots through the desert country to Darwin. Some months before the events in the book, a gold convoy was attacked, the convoy personnel killed and the gold robbed.
When Biggles suspected that an aircraft must have been used for the robbery, he called at Barula Creek and there met John Brand, the manager, who was happy to help solve the crime.
Barula Creek is a fictional location.
